Why study the wisdom of others?
- For learning wisdom and discipline; for understanding insightful sayings;
- for receiving prudent instruction in uprightness, justice, and integrity;
- for teaching astuteness, knowledge and discretion to the inexperienced.
- For a wise person to be reminded and increase learning;
- For a discerning person to obtain guidance for understanding of the words of the wise, and their riddles.
- Desiring a healthy respect for The Divine is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and discipline and seek the council of the like-minded.
Why study the wisdom of others? To learn to not be foolish.
Based on Proverbs, Chapter 1
